March 21, 2011
For the 2010 Annual Report for The Cancer Center at Kishwaukee Community Hospital

Lung
The Cancer Center has begun to offer a lung clinic with the assistance of the lung patient navigator. Upon being diagnosed with lung cancer, patients and their families will meet with a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, pulmonologist, and other specialists as needed to discuss treatment options. During this meeting, a treatment plan will be developed.

Breast
For patients diagnosed with breast cancer, a meeting is arranged with the patient, their family, a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, surgeon and nurse patient navigator to discuss treatment options. At this meeting a treatment plan is developed with input from every discipline involved in the patient's care.

Head and Neck
At this clinic the otolaryngologist, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, dietitian and speech therapist each see the patient to discuss the treatment plan. Throughout their treatment, the patient comes to this clinic for ongoing evaluation by all disciplines.
