Physicians and Staff at the Cancer Center

Dr. Sabet SiddiquiOur oncology staff is second to none. Sabet M. Siddiqui, MD, has been board certified in medical oncology since 1996. He completed his fellowship in cancer at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical center, Chicago, following his residency at Northwestern Memorial and Columbus hospitals. He has been on the Kish Hospital medical staff since 2000, and previously practiced in Freeport and Michigan. While at Rush, he conducted clinical research investigating the outcomes of various treatments on patients with breast cancer and lung cancer. He has also published articles on cancer in medical journals and has presented lectures and conducted seminars on a number of topics in oncology.

Dr. M. Ishaqe MemonM. Ishaqe Memon, MD has been board certified in medical oncology since 2002 and in hematology since 2001. He completed his fellowship in cancer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, following his residency at Yale-New Haven Medical Center. He has been practicing since 2003, previously in the western suburbs and Janesville, WI. He joined KCCC in 2006. His special interests include breast, lung, prostate and colon cancer; medical oncology, hematology, lymphoma, coagulopathy, and multiple myeloma.

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner Jeanne Oelerich joined Dr. Siddiqui in February 2010. She completed her Adult Nurse Practitioner training at Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing in 2000. Jeanne has 13 years of oncology experience.

Dr. Bharati BhateBoard certified in Radiation Oncology, Dr. Bharati Bhate has provided highly skilled cancer care since 1978. Dr. Bhate received her training at Hines VA Hospital and has been the Medical Director at the IRCC since 1993. She received her medical education at Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Hospital in Bombay, India, and was Board Certified in Radiation Oncology in 1984. Dr. Bhate’s 30+ years experience includes treating cancerous prostate, head, neck and brain tumors with radiation therapy.

Dr. Bharati Bhate’s son, radiation oncologist Amit Bhate, MD, will be joining her staff in 2010. He received his medical education from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2004. Dr. Bhate is completing his Radiation Oncology Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where he is Chief Resident. He completed his internship in internal medicine at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern, an externship in Radiosurgery at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC, and an externship in Proton Therapy at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA.

The staff at the cancer centers is very well-educated, and offers patients compassion and comfort. We employ board certified Oncology Certified Nurses and Radiation Therapists, a Nurse Patient Navigator, a dietitian, counselor, and pharmacists. All nurses at KCCC have completed a chemotherapy/biotherapy course as well. This team, together with Drs. Siddiqui, Memon, and Bhate, works very closely with the patient’s primary physician, pathologist, surgeon, and other specialists as needed.
